The Belton is charming and cozy, plus the price is reasonable. The only reason it doesn't get 5 stars is the train noise in the morning.`` Even with the train, it is well worth staying there. The balcony boasts a fabulous view of the mountains, and the staff is welcoming. The little resturaunt has great food, as well as an outside deck.`` I recommend it highly.

Stayed there last year and loved it. Going to stay there again this year. Charming historic lodge with lovely grounds. Rooms include private baths (not always available in historical hotels). Has cottage available as well as lodge rooms. Wonderful staff, great views, good food, various special activities. Did not notice train noise. Did notice some occasional vehicle noise.

My husband and I stayed at the Belton in Aug of 01'. It is located near the entrance to the park. We loved it. The rooms are small but cozy and quaint. We had a room facing the railway and we left our patio door open at night so we could listen to the trains as they past through (very loud - but we loved it). It was great sleeping in the crisp, cold air! The staff was great and the breakfast provided was too. When we next visit Glacier - that is where we want to stay!
