How do I start. The Hatch's were the ultimate hosts. After a long day railfanning the BNSF west of Joliet,we arrived about 45 minutes late. No rush,no pressure. Have a seat and get acquainted. Ron and Rita are both the railfan's railfan. The accomodations were superb. Neat as a pin, and clean beyond clean.The parade of westbounds and eastbounds continued all night on the BNSF main,so I was told..I slept too well. Just after sunup,we were on their trackside deck,watching and photographing the BNSF. Hot,homebrewed coffee was just the right thing,seeing as it was 28 degrees that morning. Rita's breakfast was beyond description. In 1 word: super delicious. We will be back to Knox Station Bed & Rails.Soon.

Ron & Rita Hatch offer an excellent opportunity for you to enjoy heavy duty mainline railroading in central Illinois. Their home is open to you and you are welcome as their guest. after a long railfan day on the Chilli sub ob the BNSF, we stopped at knox station bed & rails. rita keeps an immaculate home. spotless is not the word for it.comfortable sleeping arrangements with the parade of eastbounds and westbounds right outside your window was wonderful. both host and hostess are knowledgeable railfans.i only have 300 words to describe our experience there. rita's breakfast is worth 600 words by itself. a great place and a great time.
