The Franklin-Pearson House is a restored railroad hotel on the Nashville-Chattanooga mainline operated by CSX Transportation. This location is also home to the Cowan Pusher District - where extra power is kept to assist heavy freights over the Cumberland Plateau. Cowan Railroad Museum is only one block on the opposite side of the tracks.

Hotel is actually in the former Nashville Union Station, which has been beautifully restored. Ask for a room with a view of the tracks (pretty much any room on the south or west sides, except on the first floor, where there is a board fence blocking the view). CSXT (former L&N) line runs past the west side of the building. Trains run almost continuously.
